On May 2, the oil storage company Scandinavian Tank Storage (STS) was presented with the Port of Gothenburg Environmental Award. The company was highlighted for its sustainability programme and good co-operation with public agencies and customers. The award was presented at the annual Energy Port Day.
Each year, the Port of Gothenburg presents the Energy Port Environmental Award. This year the Environmental Award went to Scandinavian Tank Storage (STS). STS has received the award for, among other things, working proactively to bring about improvements based on customer needs.
This is the ninth year in succession that the Energy Port Environmental Award has been presented. The jury is made up of experts from the Port of Gothenburg.
"Environment and safety issues are at the top of our agenda and we are extremely pleased to receive the award," says Claes Jacobsson, President of STS.
The citation was as follows:
"As one of the newer operators at the Energy Port, Scandinavian Tank Storage has demonstrated its ambition to employ the latest technology in its underground storage operations at Syrhåla. STS adopts an open attitude to public agencies and stakeholders within the Energy Port cluster. It also plays an active part in the work at SPBI on the development of environmental work in the industry and acts as a link between SPBI and the Port of Gothenburg Liaison Committee. The company works constructively and proactively on improvements based on the needs of the customer."
